The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sport is an applied general qualification for post 16 students who want to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, possibly in the sport sector. The qualification is equivalent in size to | A Level and aims to provide a coherent introduction to the study of the sport sector at this level. Students wishing to take this BTEC will have successfully completed a level 2 programme of learning with GCSE’s or vocational qualifications.
- A minimum of 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above, and two GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 5 or above.
Through a combination of classroom based and practical activities. Students complete assignments independently throughout the course (Two units) and prepare for two external exams (one in year 12 and one in year 13).
