This course is for those students who are interested in working in or completing further training in the sectors of health, social care or early years. Students are given the chance to build awareness and understanding of contemporary issues in health and social care through a diverse range of activities. In addition it will develop your awareness of the influences on an individual’s health and well-being, and recognise the importance of the stages of development of an individual and their relationships.
At least 5 GCSEs grades 9-5, including English. No prior study of the sector is required.
Over the two years you will take four units. Two of these units are externally assessed and the other two marked by your teacher and moderated by the exam board. You will be assessed through a combination of exams, presentations and written assignments.
