Why should I choose this subject? • I enjoy a diverse range of films and am interested in how film can help our understanding of the world around us. • I’m interested in different types of films including mainstream, independent and experimental as well as how films have changed over time. • I am a creative person and want to learn how to write and make films. There are a range of Film Studies courses at universities, including Screen Studies, Screenwriting, and more practically based filmmaking courses. Alternatively it would support an application to study any humanities subject at university.
It is not necessary to have studied Film or Media at GCSE but you will need a minimum of grade 4 in English Language.
Component 1 – 45% • Exam 2 ½ hours one question from each section A, B and C Component 2 – 40% • Exam 2 ½ hours one question from each section A, B, C, and D Component 3 – 15% • Coursework
