Drama and Theatre Studies
Course summary
The course covers a range of approaches to the study of Drama and Theatre. You will work primarily as an actor/director but will also explore the roles of designer (set/lighting/costume/sound) and reviewer. You will work from a range of scripts and also have the opportunity to create your own original theatre. The course provides you with a wealth of opportunities to explore many styles and genres including dance, mask work, and even puppetry. The focus is on practical study, exploring drama texts (both pre and post 20th Century), and also requiring you to respond to live contemporary productions. The written element will require you to respond to questions set to test your practical understanding of the texts studied.
