Media Studies is an exciting and challenging course designed to give learners an insight into the media industry, whilst building strong analytical and creative skills. Initially learners will develop their analysis by applying media theory to set products chosen by Eduqas. Learners will also be required to construct an individual cross media production. This is essentially two linked media products chosen from a range of genres including: TV or Radio sequence, print based marketing, magazine, music video, and website.
Centre requirements, and in addition, grade 4 in English Language or English Literature.
• Component 1- Media Products, Industries, and Audiences (35% Exam) • Component 2 – Media Forms and Products in Depth (35% Exam) • Component 3 – Cross Media Production (30% Non-Exam Assessment) - An individual cross-media production based on two forms in response to a choice of briefs set by Eduqas, applying knowledge and understanding of the theoretical framework and digital convergence.
