Why should I choose this subject? • I enjoy the practical and theoretical elements of Sport. • I would like to find out how our body changes and adapts when exercising. • I am interested in a career in the sport and exercise sector. • I would like to develop my leadership skills and learn how to create a training programme for sports performers. • This qualification is the equivalent to one A Level and is accepted by many universities for entry to degree level study on sport courses. Employment opportunities include: PE teacher, Physio Therapist, Sports Coach, Performance Analyst, Sports Psychologist (with science A Level), Sports Science Degrees, Sports Journalism, Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, Sports Management, Police Officer, Sports Marketing/Media and Professional Athlete.
At least a 5 GCSE grades (9-4) including a 4 in Maths, a 5 in English and a 5 in Science. Ideally studied BTEC Sport at Level 2 and achieved a Merit or above.
• Anatomy and Physiology: Exam. • Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being: Exam, however a case study and some questions are released prior to the exam. • Professional Development in the Sports Industry: Coursework. • Application of Fitness Testing: Practical and Coursework.
