In Year 12- Human Lifespan Development (Unit 1) Exam Unit This is an exam and contains quite a lot of the information you learnt in your Level 2 Component 3 exam (but don’t worry if you did not do level 2 as we will be covering everything). You will look at how people change and develop over their lifetime. You will be asked questions about old age, puberty, genetic diseases, dementia, relationships, self-esteem and much more Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (Unit 5) Coursework unit This is a large piece of coursework that looks at individuals with specific needs such as learning disabilities and addiction for example. You will be writing about how they can be supported and the laws and policies that exist to protect them and make sure they are not discriminated against. In Year 13- Working in Health and Social Care (Unit 2) Exam Unit In this exam students will explore what it is like to work in the health and social care sector, including the roles and responsibilities of workers and organisations. You will look at a variety of roles within the NHS and how they can treat and support people with different needs. Psychological Perspectives (Unit 11) Coursework unit In this coursework you will explore key theoretical perspectives that have been put forward on psychological and physical development and how they are applied in different health and social care settings. You will look closely at post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health conditions and the treatment available to them.
