This course is made up of four units, three of which are mandatory units and one additional optional unit. The mandatory units are: Unit 1 - Exploring Business (Coursework) Unit 2 - Developing a Marketing Campaign (Pre-release case study) Unit 3 - Personal and Business Finance (Exam) There is then a further unit to be decided upon which specialises in a particular area of business. (Coursework) This qualification is a BTEC Level 3 which is the equivalent to an A level.
- A Merit at BTEC Business Level 2 if previously studied. Students who have not studied Business before will require 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 including English and Maths. - The minimum general requirements for Sixth Form entry are a minimum of 5 GCSE Grade 4s including English and Maths.
2 Units involve students producing a portfolio of coursework which is assessed. 2 Units are externally assessed, one of which is examination based and one which is based on a pre-release case study, again sat under exam conditions. Grades available are Pass/Merit/Distinction and Distinction*
