Over the course of two years, students studying BTEC Sport will gain a greater understanding of how the body enables sport professionals to perform sports at an elite level. Students will understand what happens to the body when we start to exercise and the effects of long-term physical activity and training on the body. Students will also analyse the impact of lifestyle choices, such as alcohol consumption and smoking on an individual’s health, fitness and well-being and provide recommendations on how to improve their lifestyle. BTEC Sport wouldn’t be a Sport course without a practical element and students will get the opportunity to showcase their skills, techniques and tactics in two sports of their choice and analyse their performance in both sports.
