Topics range from biological molecules to the environment around us. The course contains significant sections on human biology, plant biology, ecology, genetics and gene technology. All of the theory has relevance to the world around us, whether it is the functioning of our bodies, or new technologies being used in genetic modification. Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of a wide range of processes, techniques and procedures. They will have to apply this knowledge in a variety of practical and theoretical contexts, and when handling quantitative and qualitative data.
