Choose to study History at Brighouse Sixth Form College if you enjoy investigation and discovery, then A Level History is for you. The main reason for studying History must be that you have a genuine interest in finding out about the past. This course is for anyone interested in learning about the development of the twentieth century particularly the story of some of the most infamous people who have ever lived. The key areas you will study are; Searching for Rights and Freedoms in the twentieth century, the USA and South Africa; the creation of a Republic in Ireland; and Russia through revolution and Communism. Studying History will also provide you with many skills which are highly valued by employers, universities and colleges. You will develop skills in debate, analysis, investigation and interpretation. You will also learn how to use evidence to form your judgements about events and people in the past. History is a really useful qualification for anyone wanting to enter professions such as law, journalism, archaeology, finance management or teaching.
A minimum of a grade 5 in GCSE History if studied.
