Choose to study Geography at Brighouse Sixth Form College if you enjoy learning about the world around you then Geography is for you. The main reason for studying Geography must be a genuine interest in finding out how the world functions. Humans have set up complicated global systems to support development and trade with some dramatic consequences. The physical world is continually changing and provides humans with both threats and opportunities. This course is for anyone interested in learning more about physical and human geography with the opportunity to develop your enquiry based around extended field research. Studying Geography will also provide you with many of the skills which are highly valued by employers, universities and colleges. You will develop skills in data analysis, data presentation, evaluation, enquiry, research and extended writing plus unique geographical skills such as GIS (Geographical Information Systems). Geography is a really useful qualification for anyone wanting to enter professions such as finance, management, teaching, oceanography, weather forecasting, cartography, data visualisation, GIS specialist, environmental consultancy, Environmental Agency, remote sensing, hydrologist, and town planning.
