The A-level Mathematics course provides a solid foundation in pure mathematics and introduces mechanics and statistics topics. This broad base complements many other A-level subjects but is particularly beneficial to students studying Physics and Social Sciences. Students who study the Further Mathematics option will complete two full A-levels in Mathematics at the end of Year 13. Mathematics students receive 8 hours of lesson time per fortnight and Further Mathematics students receive 14 hours per fortnight.
• Mathematics students (9MA0) require a Grade 6 or higher at GCSE Maths and Physics. • A minimum of four grades at 6 or above at GCSE • A grade 5 or higher in GCSE English • A grade 5 or higher in GCSE Mathematics • A minimum of a grade 6 at GCSE in the subject you wish to study (if the subject is offered at GCSE)
