Course summary

Religious Studies blends beliefs and faiths with moral and ethical issues. Studying Religious Studies has an ever-increasing relevance to the modern world. Students have the opportunity to examine conflicting viewpoints such as whether science and religion can agree on, for example, evolution and the afterlife, as well as religion and ethical issues such as euthanasia and the environment. In the second year, students will build upon content, ideas and skills to tackle difficult and complex philosophical issues. This course will provide you with a sound understanding of ethics; covering a range of systems. It will enable you to understand religious experience and some specific aspects of religions. You will also develop your essay writing skills, and your ability to study and interpret texts in examinations.

Entry requirements

Five grades 4-9 (or equivalent) including grade 4 in English Language.
