Course summary
If you wish to pursue a career in the Sport and Active Leisure industry, specifically within Sport Science, this course is for you. The course will incorporate both theory and practical knowledge to a high challenging academic level, allowing for progression to university if you desire. Alongside the main qualification you will develop other employment and personal development skills ready for the world of work. You also have opportunities to join sports academies, sports teams, sports clubs, contribute to sports events and be rewarded for volunteering through our step in to sport programme. Within this programme we work closely with a number of HE partners to allow you the opportunity to see your next step & develop skills assisting you with your transition to HE. You will work towards achieving the following units: Year 1: • Functional Anatomy • Applied Sport & Exercise Psychology • Coaching for Performance & Fitness • Biomechanics in Sport & Exercise Science • Specialised Fitness Training • Physical Activity for Individual & Group Based Exercise • Sport & Exercise Physiology • Nutrition for Sport & Exercise Performance Our sports courses are run at our specialist Sports Campus at Alive Lynn sport, near to the King's Lynn campus.
