WHAT WILL I BE LEARNING? The course focuses on the materials and processes used within the Graphics Industry, however, opportunities are provided for students to learn about the design and manufacture of buildings, industrial products and vehicles. WHAT SKILLS WILL I DEVELOP? In the first year, students are provided with the opportunity to develop their creative, technical, and practical skills through the production of a Product Design portfolio, which consists of Investigations, Design Tasks and Manufacturing Projects. They also study design theory, looking at materials and processes used in the Graphics Industries.
5 passes at grade 4 or above. Grade 4 in subject.
This course uses a mix of theory-based lessons, practical workshop activities and design sessions to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to move into the world of design.
