BTEC Enterprise gives students a great introduction to the world of work and is the perfect extension for those who have studied BTEC Level 2 Enterprise. A recognized qualification for any career choice including administration, marketing, finance, operations, customer service, and human resources, it also provides a solid study foundation for the following further education pathways: Accounting, Finance, Law, Politics, Advertising, Marketing, Media, Human Resources and any Business Management course. The core elements of both courses include: Enterprise and Entrepreneurs - In this internally assessed, coursework unit, students will gain an overview of the importance of both enterprises and entrepreneurs to the local and national economy. They will explore their creativity and mindset as they look at real-life enterprises and entrepreneurs, and investigate the skills required to be successful. Developing a marketing campaign - In this externally assessed unit students will gain skills relating to an understanding of how a marketing campaign is developed. Personal and Business Finance – In this externally assessed unit students will study the purpose and importance of personnel and business finance. Students will develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand, analyze, and prepare financial information. Social Enterprise – In this internally assessed, coursework unit students will Investigate a range of social enterprises. They will explore the factors that contribute to the success or failure of social enterprises. Finally, students will plan, participate in, and review a short social enterprise activity. Double award additional units include: Launch and Run an Enterprise – In this internally assessed, coursework unit students will work as part of a small group to plan, coordinate, and manage a business or social enterprise event and evaluate the skills gained. Survival and Growth – In this internally assessed, coursework unit, students will explore the factors influencing the survival of the enterprise, including the role of technology and the implications of increasing the size of the workforce, considering the choices available to an enterprise wishing to expand. Business Decision Making – In this externally assessed unit students will interpret data, and formulate decisions and solutions to given complex business problems. They will consider business situations/ scenarios where they are required to select and use appropriate evidence from several sources to support arguments made.
Five GCSEs at grade 5. Level 2 in Business preferred, Grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths.
