Music students are encouraged to study the widest possible range of music from folk, jazz, popular and classical traditions of western and non-western origin. Throughout the course, you will also develop skills in the handling of Music Technology. Music is the universal language; it is one of this country's major industries; it is an area of study involving a (possibly unique) combination of practical, creative and academic skills which build self-reliance and teamwork skills.
- Performing students need to have reached at least Grade 6-7 at GCSE • Passes at grade 4 or above in English Language (not English Literature) and Mathematics • At least six GCSE passes at Grade 5 to 9 • A Grade 6 or above in the subjects the student wishes to study at Advanced level or in any prerequisite subjects
Written examination marked by the awarding body with some performing elements externally assessed.
