Course summary

If you choose to do this course you will be working in a business environment, researching and investigating businesses in the region to gather evidence for your coursework portfolios. These portfolios can be used in the future to show employers and universities the quality of work you have produced. As you progress through the course you will develop skills that are valued by employers and will help you if you choose to continue studying when you leave. You will need to be self-motivated and this course will improve your ability to work independently. You will also enhance your time management skills and by working with others to carry out research and present your findings, you will learn about working as part of a team. Year 12 Unit 1 The Business Environment Unit 2 Working in Business Unit 4 Customers and Communication Year 13 Unit 5 Marketing and Market Research Unit 17 Responsible Business Practices Time management and forward planning are essential skills that will be required to be successful at this course. This qualification will provide learners with the skills, knowledge, and understanding to progress into Higher Education (HE) on a business-related program such as Business, Business Management, Marketing, Business and Finance, Business and Economics and Accounting. It will also allow learners to choose non-business-related degree programs.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE passes at a minimum of Grade 4 (Grade C for Legacy qualifications).

How you'll be assessed

The course is equivalent to one full A-level and is assessed over two years. Two units are assessed through external exams and the other three units are assessed through coursework portfolios.
