All businesses (and other organisations like charities and hospitals) need sound business skills behind them. The Year 12 course includes the following topics. What is business? 1. Managers, leadership and decision making. 2. Decision making to improve marketing performance. 3. Decision making to improve operational performance. 4. Decision making to improve financial performance. 5. Decision making to improve human resource performance. In Year 13 we cover: 6. Analysing the strategic position of a business. 7. Choosing strategic direction. 8. Strategic methods: how to pursue strategies. 9. Managing strategic change.
• We have a minimum entry requirement of grade 4 in both Maths and English Language. Additional subject entry requirements for each subject are listed below. There may be some flexibility around these. • English can be either Literature or Language unless specifically stated. • At least a grade 6 in GCSE Biology or 6-6 in GCSE Combined Science and a 6 in Maths
The A level is assessed by three two-hour written exams at the end of the course. • Paper 1: Multiple-choice questions, short answer and two essays. • Paper 2: Three compulsory data response questions. • Paper 3: One compulsory case study consisting of six questions.
