A-level Art and Design provides students with opportunities to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures in practical, critical and contextual forms. This four-unit specification, requires students to develop their ability to show a range of skills.
Unit 1 & 2: Coursework portfolio students explore a range of media for example painting, printmaking, chalk pastel, and a range of drawing techniques. This must include a minimum of one complete project with a range of finished responses. For internal set assignment, students must create a response to a set topic/theme. Unit 3: Personal investigation, students specialize in their chosen theme. A written essay is also required. Unit 4: Externally set assignment students must create a response to an externally set topic/theme
