Course summary

The course involves the simultaneous study of Classical Poetry, History, Literature and Philosophy. Students will only be judged on the performance of written examinations at the end of the two years. The topics will include the epic poems of Homer and Virgil where storytelling began, famed Greek plays to explore the drama of the period, and the study of the Ancient Greek and Roman philosophers and poets.

Entry requirements

- GCSE English Literature or English Language Grade 6 or above. If GCSE History or Religion, Ethics & Philosophy taken at GCSE, Grade 5. - A grade average of 6.6 or better across all GCSEs taken (where letter grades are awarded an A* = 8 points, A = 7, B = 6, C = 5, etc. so, by way of example, 6 A grades and 4 B grades, giving a grade average of 6.6, would satisfy this requirement). - GCSE passes at grade B/6 or above in English Language and Mathematics, irrespective of the chosen A level subjects
