Biology is the study of living organisms and their relationship with the physical world. Biology is a science subject, so practical work is an important part of the course. - Module 1 - Biological Molecules - Module 2 - Cells - Module 3 - Organisms exchange substances with their environments - Module 4 - Genetic Information and variation - Module 5 - Energy transfer between organisms - Module 6 - Organisms responses to internal and external environment. - Module 7 - Genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems - Module 8 The control of Gene expression
Students wishing to join the course will have completed combined or separate Science GCSE’s and achieved at least a Grade 6 in combined Science and a Grade 6 in the biology exam. Students must also have achieved a Grade 5 in mathematics and English. Students will need to achieve at least five GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
A Level (3x 2h exams each) Paper 1 (91 marks/35%) Paper 2 (91 marks/35%) Paper 3 (78 marks/30%)
