Course summary

Mathematics is ideal for students who have enjoyed the subject at GCSE and have a real passion for studying it to a higher level. Studying maths to this level will open doors into so many different places such as: Science, Engineering, Economics, finance, Accounting, Business, to name but a few. Studying mathematics to this level will develop problem solving and reasoning skills, making mathematics a highly valued A Level subject. Recent research shows that studying mathematics at A Level adds an average of 11% to earnings by the time you are 34 years old! Entry requirements

Students must have obtained at least a grade 6 at GCSE maths (Higher level) Students will need to achieve at least five GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

How you'll be assessed

We are currently following the Edexcel course for mathematics. In Year 13 you will sit 3 papers at A Level (9MA0) two pure papers for 2 hours each and one Statistics and Mechanics paper for 2 hours. Please note that there is no coursework in this subject.
