The AQA Level 3 vocational qualification allows you to learn and understand a broad range of business and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills associated with working within a business enterprise. The course is designed not just to test knowledge but to be a practical and realistic experience which prepares you to progress to study for a qualification at university or allow you to move into employment. Studying this qualification will enable you to develop the fundamental knowledge and skills recognised as most important by higher education and employers. Students must achieve at least a grade 4 in GCSE Business Studies and grade 4 in either English language or literature. You must also be good at managing your time and meeting deadlines.
Assessment is through examination, external assignments and internal set assignments. The units are graded pass, merit or distinction. Each unit is worth 16.6% of the final grade, the units include finance, entrepreneurship, marketing and leadership. Over two years 50% of the course is externally assessed (exams & external assignments) and 50% of the course is internally set assignments.
