The A-Level course enables students to develop useful skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and critical analysis that will help in higher education or a career. Quantitative skills count for a minimum of 10% of the overall assessment and students develop a financial awareness that will help prepare them for any future career. Business is front-page news. The way companies operate is under greater scrutiny than ever before, while TV programs like The Apprentice and Dragon’s Den have raised the profile of Business to a new generation. The AQA curriculum enables students to engage with, explore, and understand business behavior and develop a critical understanding of what business is and does. In the first year of the course, you will cover topics that look at leadership and decision-making whilst looking more closely at ways to improve marketing, operational, and financial performance. In the second year, you will look at the strategic position of a business, human resource strategies, and how to manage strategic change.
Our general entry requirements are that you will need a minimum of five Grade 5s or above in your GCSEs to study A-Levels including Maths & English. To Study A Level Business at Meden, you will need to achieve a level 2 Merit grade in the Cambridge National Course.
3 exams (2 hours each) All papers draw on material from the whole course and feature a range of question styles including multiple choice, short answers, essay style questions and data response questions and case studies.
