The film cleverly reveals the difference between life in East and West Germany at the time. Grammar – will revise and go beyond that of GCSE. Year 13 Content: Multiculturalism: immigration, integration, racism Aspects of political life in the German-speaking world: Germany and the EU, Youth and politics, the reunification of Germany Literary text: Die verlorene Ehre der Katherine Blum – a tragic heroine, or an evil manipulator? You will discuss this whilst looking at the background of the setting of this book. Grammar – a revision of Year 12, moving onto university level.
You will need to be a higher candidate at GCSE German and achieve at least a grade 6.
There are three exam papers: Paper 1 – Listening, reading and writing - Listening and responding to spoken passages. Reading and responding to passages. Translation into English. Students are in charge of operating the recordings. Paper 2 – Writing – Writing about a novel and film and translating into German. Paper 3 – speaking card on a topic studied and research project.
