Chemistry has a huge impact on all our lives; this course links chemical theory to real life applications. From the development of new medicines and consumer goods to how we control of pollution, the study of chemistry plays an exciting and important role in the modern age and the future. • Developing your knowledge of chemical processes through a good mixture of both practical and theory based work. • Study of physical and organic chemistry, thermodynamics, atomic structure and experimental investigations. • Learning about three core areas of chemistry; physical chemistry, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry. • Building on topics covered at Level 2.
5 GCSEs, including English and maths, grade 5/C or above. GCSE Science Grade 6 or above.
This course is assessed by three examinations and a practical assessment. Paper 1: Periodic Table & Physical Chemistry Paper 2: Synthesis & Analytical Elements Paper 3: Unified Chemistry
