
In Geography our curriculum ensures that students understand the complex nature of planet Earth by appreciating how humans interact with the physical world. We intend to empower students with transferable skills and powerful knowledge to become ‘Global Citizens’; citizens who can successfully participate in society and understand their Catholic responsibility to care for our common world.
Two Grade 6 and four Grade 5 at GCSE level GCSE Grade 5 Geography
The course is made up of 3 examinations and a piece of coursework: ● Paper 1 – Physical Geography – 30% ● Paper 2 – Human Geography – 30% ● Paper 3 – Synoptic – 20% ● Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) – Independent Investigation – 20% Students will have both in-class timed exam questions and homework based exam questions to assess their progress. Regular low stakes testing is used in lessons to assess students’ understanding.
