This course is divided into three clear elements. Students will take part in a public performance of one or more pieces, performed as a recital (minimum length 8 minutes). The performance can be playing or singing solo, in an ensemble, improvising, or realising music using music technology. Students will produce two compositions, one to a brief set by the examination board and one free composition. Students will also have six areas of study, each with three set works.
This course is open to students who have achieved a grade 5 in GCSE Music or a grade 5 (ABRSM) or equivalent on an instrument.
