Students will engage in a range of traditional and contemporary art processes in order to develop a broad and exciting portfolio of work. The course provides students with the opportunity to experience a deeper understanding of the art world through the development of their ideas and the search for an appropriate means of expression. Students will focus on building a foundation of skills that include painting and drawing, printmaking, and lens based image making. These skills are then channelled towards creating their own personal projects ending with an externally set controlled assignment in year two.
This course is open to students who have achieved a grade 5 in an Art and Design endorsed subject such as Art, Craft and Design, Photography, Graphics or Fine Art.
