You can also move into Engineering, Astrophysics, Chemical Physics, Nanotechnology, renewable energy and more, the opportunities are endless. We have great new facilities at Kineton High School which you can take full advantage of during your A-Level studies. There are 3 teachers so you can access different teaching styles. There is lots of support available for you over the 2 years to ensure you get the best possible grade. The Physics department also provide the opportunity to take part in the Engineering Education Scheme which is a 6 month EDT Programme that links teams of Year 12 students and their teacher with local companies where they work on real, scientific, engineering and technology projects. The scheme provides students with an in-depth experience in science, engineering and technology that will enable them to make an informed decision about their future studies and career.

There is no coursework on this course. However, your performance during practicals will be assessed. You will sit three examinations: Paper 1 (Measurements and their errors, Particles and radiation, Waves, Mechanics and materials, Electricity) 2hr written exam, 34% of the A level, 60 marks of short and long answer questions and 25 multiple choice questions on content. Paper 2 (Further Mechanics and Thermal Physics, fields and their consequences, Nuclear Physics), 2hr written exam, 34% of the A Level, 60 marks of short and long answer questions and 25 multiple choice questions on content Paper 3 (Practical skills and data analysis, Medical Physics ), 2hr written exam, 32% of the A level, 45 marks of short and long answer questions on practical experiments and data analysis
