Course summary

Geography explains the past, illuminates the present and prepares us for the future. What could be more imporant than that? - Michael Palin. The course is issues-based, enabling you to explore and evaluate contemporary geographical questions and issues such as the consequences of globalisation, responses to hazards, water insecurity and climate change. Geography A Level provides a solid basis for further study and can be linked with almost every subject available at AS and A Level.

Entry requirements

- At least grades 6 in Geography at GCSE • Passes at grade 4 or above in English Language (not English Literature) and Mathematics • At least six GCSE passes at Grade 5 to 9 • A Grade 6 or above in the subjects the student wishes to study at Advanced level or in any prerequisite subjects

How you'll be assessed

Written examination externally marked by the awarding body plus an element of non-exam assessment.
