The aims of this course are to develop a wider understanding of the world around us by studying a broad spectrum of different topics. Students must have an interest in current media events and be able to relate their own experiences into their understanding. An emphasis on independent learning will encourage an analytical and enquiring approach to their studies.
Students must have achieved a minimum of Grade 6 GCSE in Geography for entry on to this course. Students with a Grade 5A can be considered at the Subject Leader’s discretion.
Paper 1—Physical geography: 2 hour 30 minute examination (30% of the qualification) Paper 2—Human Geography will take 2 hour 30 minute examination (30% of the qualification) Paper 3: 2 hour 30 minute examination (20% of the qualification) Coursework: Independent examination (20% of the qualification)
