The Creative Industry is the second largest industry in the world, with the UK design sector leading in Europe. A-level Fine Art & Textiles is a two-year course which allows you to develop a range of skills and produce a strong portfolio of artwork that showcases a variety of techniques and materials. What will I study? - Textile specialist areas such as print, embroidery, knit, surface design and CAD, as well as other specialisms such as graphics, photography, 3D design and illustration. - Themes and concepts by investigating a body of research through observational drawing and photography. - Reflections on artists and designers from the past as well as taking inspiration from the best contemporary practitioners.
5 GCSE grades 9-4, with a minimum grade 6 in GCSE Art and a portfolio
- 60% personal investigation (supporting studies, practical work & personal study) - 40% externally set assignment (preparatory studies & 15-hour period of sustained focus)
