Applied Science contains aspects of A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics and applies the content to a vocational setting. Transferable skills such as research, communication, teamwork and analysis are taught over the duration of the course.

Entry requirements

Grade 4, 4 in Combined Science. If studying separate sciences then must have grade 4 in at least two of the sciences.

How you'll be assessed

• Unit 1 (90 pts): Principles and Applications of Science I (3 x 30-minute exams). • Unit 2 (90 pts): Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques (coursework). • Unit 3 (120 pts): Science Investigation Skills (examined, 1.5 hrs). • Unit 10 (60 pts): Biological Molecules and Metabolic Pathways (coursework).
