This course offers a broad introduction to the principles of care in health and social care services. Students will consider the social, financial and psychological impacts of people with various conditions ranging from heart disease to arthritis and mental health conditions. Students will also learn about the legislation and guidance supporting health and social care, to ensure that the people they are working with are able to access all the care and support they are entitled to, as well as protect themselves and others from harm or abuse at work.
Students must achieve 5 GCSE grades 9-4 including Math's and English at grade 4. Grade 5 Science. An interest in caring for and helping others is very desirable.
