This qualification is designed for learners with a keen interest in performing arts. It gives a broad introduction to the performing arts sector with an emphasis on core knowledge and fundamental skills which are transferable across other sectors- including communication, presentation, physical and creative skills. • Gaining and applying knowledge of key performing arts practitioners. • Practical workshops exploring the skills and techniques, psychomotor and emotive skills of performers. • Optional unit on a wide range of potential topics such as improvisation, variety performance or classical dance styles.
5 GCSEs, including English and maths, grade 5/C or above. Demonstrable subject interest and skill. Level 2 Performing Arts is also an advantage.
This course is assessed by two external and two internal assessments.
