Geography is a subject covering a whole host of fundamental issues such as climate change, migration and natural hazards. Alongside the academic accolades, Geography also provides students with the enquiry and research skills sought after in many areas of the workplace, further statistical analysis skills and an deeper understanding of the world around us. Physical Geography: hazards, water cycle, carbon cycle, coastal systems and landscapes. • Human Geography: global systems and governance, changing places, population and the environment. • Fieldwork: exploration of local geography.
5 GCSEs, including English and maths, grade 5/C or above. GCSE Geography at grade 5 or above, or keen interest.
The course is assessed by a fieldwork assignment and two examinations, each 2.5 hours long. Exams: Physical & Human Geography (80%) Fieldwork: 4000 Word Investigation (20%)
