A Level History encourages students to question and interpret different accounts of historical events and justify their own point of view. This subject also helps to develop the ability to read critically, evaluate evidence, write persuasively and sustain an argument. This subject is for those who enjoy reading, problem solving and discussion.
A Level Study: To join the Sixth Form there is an entry criteria of five standard passes at GCSE (at least a Grade 4). This must include at least a Grade 4 in English Language and Maths at GCSE. Students will need to gain at least a Grade 4 in the subjects they would like to study at A Level. For biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, English literature, French, further maths, maths there are additional subject requirements, which are available upon request.
