Course summary

The course is a heavily practical course where both performance, choreography/devising and theory are taught. The practical nature of Performing Arts offers a welcome break from classroom based courses. Performing Arts in Sixth Form allows students to develop their skills in their area of interest within performance, this can include Drama and Theatre, Dance and Musical theatre. Students will develop both analytical skills and skills as a performer, choreographer/deviser. The course can be accessed by those who have studied drama or dance previously or students who want to learn more about the art forms.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4. Grade 5 in English and Maths and Grade 6 in Drama or Dance.

How you'll be assessed

For Unit One is externally assessed based on your response to a question based on the work of at least two practitioners. Unit two and the optional unit are assessed during workshops based on your response to tasks and the written logbook submitted. Unit Three is externally assessed and evidenced through workshops, performance and logbook.
