Course summary

If you have enjoyed Mathematics at GCSE Level and want to extend and deepen your knowledge then this is the course for you. Its rigorous approach will help you to learn pure and applied topics in a logical way and develop your problem-solving skills. A level Mathematics is a highly valued qualification and can open doors to new and exciting opportunities. WHAT WILL I LEARN? Pure Maths Proof, Algebra, Functions, Coordinate Geometry, Sequences and Series, Trigonometry, Exponentials and Logarithms, Differentiation, Integration and Vectors, Numerical Methods , Statistics and Mechanics ,Statistical sampling, Data presentation and interpretation, Probability, Statistical distribution, Statistical hypothesis testing, Quantities and units in mechanics, Kinematics, Forces and Newton’s laws & Moments.

Entry requirements

A positive reference from the school attended up to age 16. A minimum of 5 grades at 9-4 at GCSE, including mathematics and English, plus minimum grade requirement for each subject as published. At least a grade 6 in Maths.

How you'll be assessed

You will be taught in lessons and regularly Assessed throughout the year. Paper 1: Pure Maths (2 hours) 100 marks worth 33% of the exam Paper 2: Pure Maths (2 hours) 100 marks worth 33% of the exam Paper 3: Statistics and Mechanics 100 marks worth 33% of the exam
