Course summary

The aims of the course are to encourage students to acquire knowledge and understanding of selected periods of history and develop an interest in, and enthusiasm for, the study of history, which would form a sound basis for further historical study. This course would suit people who enjoy reading and debating issues and then writing essays to set out their arguments. How you'll be assessed

60% of your final grade will come from your coursework on a personal investigation on a theme of your own choosing. The remaining 40% will be from an end-of-course externally set assignment that you will complete at the end of the course.
