The A-level Geography course is split into three main parts: Physical Geography 40%, Human Geography 40% and a coursework element 20%. At Meden, we focus on: • Hazards • Coasts • Water and Carbon Systems • Changing Places, • Contemporary Urban Environments • Global Systems and Governance As part of the A-Level course, students are expected to take part in a 5-day fieldwork project. We plan an annual trip to Dorset in July of Year 12 where students collect data for the A Level geography coursework.
Our general entry requirements are that you will need a minimum of five Grade 5s or above in your GCSEs to study A-Levels including Maths & English. At least a grade 5 in geography at GCSE. If students do not have geography GCSE at least 5s in math's, English and science.
