Course summary

Our BTEC in science allows for the application of all areas within science. The assessment method is less daunting with elements that are internally marked as well as external assessments. It’s a qualification that gives students a broad grasp of the three main scientific disciplines (biology, chemistry, and physics) It’s designed to help students develop the skills and techniques needed to be employed or access higher education. Year 12: - Principles and applications of science - Practical scientific procedures and techniques Year 13: - Science investigation skills - Physiology of human body systems BTEC Applied Science gives students the opportunity to delve into A-level sciences, as well as more demanding practical work that is akin to university expectations. This course is perfect for any students who enjoy all sciences, but perhaps want further subjects in their post-16 repertoire. This course has opened doors to students who need science at this level but are more comfortable with assignment-based assessment. Courses and careers that enroll students in this course include paramedics, midwives, and nurses. It is also a great opportunity to add to UCAS points for anyone who may wish to keep their options open when continuing their study at post-16.
