This course helps students to understand the role and responsibilities of the accountant and the impacts of their recommendations on the business and the wider environment. Students will build knowledge and understanding of key concepts, principles and techniques that they can apply to real-life scenarios, developing the ability to solve problems logically, analyze data methodically, make reasoned choices and communicate effectively. Students will gain core knowledge of financial and management accounting. Year 12 content introduce theory and practice, applying concepts and principles to various accounting situations for both financial and management accounting. A Level develops both financial and management accounting further to provide an excellent foundation for further study at professional level. The majority of class time is spent learning techniques and preparing accounting information and solving problems. Students are encouraged to complete extra work and practice questions to improve their progress and understanding. A motivation for independent learning and self-drive are essential.
- Students will need to achieve at least five GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. - Good pass grade in Maths and English around 5 and above
You will be assessed by examination only at A Level over the two year course. Two Examination Papers – 6 hours in length Three sections: Section A – Multiple choice questions and short answer Section B – Has four structured questions Section C – Has two extended answer questions.
