This course is for any post-16 students who want to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, possibly in the legal sector. The qualification is equivalent in size to one A level and aims to provide a good introduction to study of the legal sector, giving students an opportunity to learn about the key aspects of law, to add an optional unit of their choice, and to further develop skills needed to enter a higher education programme or employment. BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Law (A level equivalent) Unit one: Dispute Solving in Criminal Law Unit two: Investigating Aspects of Criminal Law and the Legal System Unit Three: Applying the Law One optional unit: Unit four: Aspects of Family Law Unit five: Consumer Law Unit six: Contract Law Unit seven: Aspects of Tort.
This course is for anyone who has achieved 5 or more GCSE passes at Grade 4. This is a vocationally related qualification and an alternative to traditional A Levels.
Externally assessed units all learners take the same assessment at the same time, normally with a written outcome. Internally assessed units learners take the assessment during a defined window and demonstrate understanding through completion of a vocational task.
