Course summary

You will gain a good understanding of health and social care in the wider contexts of different environments and settings where care takes place. You will explore the importance of effective communication in health and social care together with the importance of legislation in health and social care and how to deliver a person-centred approach in the care given. Learners will also develop transferable skills such as: - Communication - Research - Planning - Organization

Entry requirements

Students currently studying a BTEC/Applied course require a merit to proceed onto the Level 3 course, in addition to 4 other GCSEs 9-4. To undertake a Level 3 BTEC/Applied Course without having previously studied the subject in Year 11, 5 GCSE grades 9-4 are required.

How you'll be assessed

Throughout this course you will be expected to apply your knowledge to both coursework and external examinations. As this is a Level 3 qualification there are three examined modules and three coursework modules over the two years of study which are internally assessed and verified externally.
