If you study psychology you will begin to understand the factors that affect other peoples behaviour and feelings. You will also learn more about yourself and why you do the things you do. Cognitive Psychology An examination of research into memory and forgetting. Developmental Psychology An examination of early social and cognitive development, the development of attachments and deprivation and privation. Individual Differences An examination of conceptions and models of abnormal behaviour, psychological disorders such as schizophrenia. Physiological Psychology An examination of stress and stress management, research into sleep. Research Methods An examination of research methods used in psychology. Social Psychology An examination of research into conformity and obedience, consideration of ethical issues within psychological research, an examination of the development of relationships. Students will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of study skills, including note making, essay writing, skills of analysis and evaluation, independent research and discussion, independent research and psychological research including conducting experiments.
