Students may have an interest in business and want to start their own business one day. Student may have an inquiring mind and be interested in learning about the world around them, how businesses work and what challenges businesses face. This course will help students to understand all of this and more. Year 12: - Exploring Business - Developing a marketing campaign - Personal & Business Finance - Recruitment & Selection Year 13: - Managing an Event - International Business - Principles of Management - Investigating Customer Service The qualification is recognized by higher education institutions as fully meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses in a variety of areas in the business sector. After completing the qualification students can progress directly to employment. Areas of employment include junior business roles in marketing, administration, finance, events management, HR, marketing, and other related areas in the business sector, including higher-level apprenticeships.
To undertake vocational courses you will require a minimum of five GCSEs in five separate subjects, graded a D or above. Each BTEC qualification will count as one subject. A minimum of grade 4 is required in both English and Mathematics. There is no requirement for students to have studied business previously.
